About Me

Jermyn K.Y. Voon is a dynamic and accomplished young professional and community leader deeply committed to enhancing accessibility, fostering the arts, promoting inclusivity, and engaging in civic and political activities. His diverse background includes valuable experience across multiple sectors, including federal and provincial government, as well as the private and non-profit realms, where he has contributed in roles spanning accounting, administration, communications, and marketing.

As a highly engaged community volunteer, Jermyn holds the position of Vice Chair at the Downstage Performance Society and serves on the boards of Arts Commons, the prominent performing arts center in Calgary (where he is an active member of the Finance Committee), the CPA CGY Chapter as Alternate Secretary, and the SAMRU Advisory Committee as Chair. His extensive board experience includes past roles as Board Secretary, Nominations Committee Chair, Acting Treasurer, and Finance Committee Chair of the Federation of Calgary Communities. Additionally, he has held the position of Board President at the Canadian Club Calgary and has been a dedicated board and committee member for the Calgary Justice Film Festival, among other community-focused organizations. Jermyn is also deeply involved in municipal and federal politics, contributing to his community in multifaceted ways.

Educationally, Jermyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management, Marketing, and Accounting, as well as a Business Administration Diploma, both from Mount Royal University’s Bissett School of Business. He has further honed his expertise through completion of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD-Rotman) Governance Essentials Program, onBoard Canada’s Board Governance Fundamentals Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University, and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Currently, he is actively pursuing his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

In recognition of his outstanding philanthropy and community work, Jermyn received the United Way Culbert Family Award for Philanthropy in 2021 and was honored as a 2022 Shaw Charity Classic Community Champion. Since 2022, he has contributed his insights and leadership as a board member at Arts Commons, further enriching his community involvement and dedication to the arts.
