I usually don’t like post things like this as I very private about achievements or accomplishments or things I’m working on. Growing up, I have always been taught never brag.
Last weekend has been a whirlwind, I’m so proud of what we accomplished as a team. Our team, Pharos got 2 place in amazing online event Techstars Startup Weekend to develop solutions to problems persisting due to #covid19 .
Pharos will be a platform to connect victims of domestic abuse with available rooms at local hotels – so they can access #safespace when it matters most.
To be part of the startup community both as volunteer and now a fellow Techstars Startup Weekend participant is an awesome feeling. To be part of team that placed 2nd among from coast to coast across Canada – is absolutely surreal & something I would have never dreamed of in my wildest dreams. There were so many incredible startup ideas pitched in this country.
None of us had actually met before this event but after somehow pulling everything together and coming together virtually over 4 provinces, 54 hours of work and crazy number of #zoom calls, our team is 2nd place across Canada. I am so thankful to part of a team who are passionate to deliver change in the society. Kudos to everyone on the team and hope to bring change/ awareness required on this sensitive topic.
